Bill Clinton and Donald Trump attended the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation Golf Classic

on July 14, 2008, at Trump National Gold Club in New York.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton may be on opposite sides of a nasty campaign now, but before the billionaire businessman and the former secretary of state were rivals in a presidential battle royale, they often moved in the same circles.

The Clinton Presidential Center is Preparing to release a cache of previously unreleased official White House photographs from two events Trump attended near the end of former President Bill Clinton’s administration.

According to a Politico report, 496 photos from the Clinton Presidential Library archives will be released to the public in September, unless the former president or President Barack Obama object, in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.

The photos are from a fundraiser Clinton attended at Trump Tower in New York City on June 16, 2000, and from the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York on Sept. 8, 2000.

The images won’t be the first of the billionaire businessman hobnobbing with the former first couple to be made public: Photos of the Clintons attending Trump’s wedding to his third wife, Melania, are already in the public domain, as are pictures of Trump and the former president golfing.

Throughout the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump has shrugged off his past associations with the Clintons – he has donated thousands of dollars over the years to Hillary Clinton’s Senate and presidential campaigns and to the Clinton Foundation – as the cost of doing business. At the same time, he has portrayed the former first couple as “crooked” for peddling influence in their own efforts to get and keep power.

But the photos in the library’s archives may undercut Trump’s message, revealing him as eager to be seen as friendly with the Clintons.
